Who we are
GoUMRA is an app for pilgrims and Umrah group guides. Data controller: GoUMRA. If you travel in an agency group, that agency (tour operator) also sees your data and is responsible for its own clients.
Your location is sent only after you tap “I agree”. If you withdraw consent, your location history, Umrah progress and comments are deleted at once. Other pilgrims in your group see you only if you turn on “Show me to the group”. This is not a rescue service.
What we collect and why

Data that stays on your phone
Medical card, your hotel, trip dates, favourites, Quran bookmarks, the counter's sensor log. You send the log yourself, with “Share log”, to someone you choose.
Who we share with
- Your group's guide and agency (group board, dashboard).
- Other pilgrims in your group — only if you turn on “Show me to the group”.
- Your family — only if you create a family link (24 h / 72 h / until the trip ends; you can stop it any time).
- We do not sell data. No ads, no tracking, no analytics SDKs.
- Server: our own. Network traffic passes through Cloudflare, encrypted.
Services your phone contacts directly
Weather (open-meteo.com, for Makkah/Madinah, not your location), exchange rates (open.er-api.com), Quran translations (quranenc.com), recitations (everyayah.com), Madinah Mushaf pages (qurancomplex.gov.sa). They see only your IP address.
Security
All connections use HTTPS. Every device has its own secret key (the server stores only a hash). The dashboard requires a login and password.

The web version sends your location only while the page is open. Sending in the background (screen off) needs the Android app. The web version uses no cookies, ads or analytics; settings stay in your browser.
Deleting your data and your rights
- In the app: Settings → “Delete my data” — everything about you on the server (name, phone, location history, SOS coordinates) is deleted at once, and the data on the phone is cleared too.
- If you already uninstalled the app: enter your code on goumra.kz/delete.
- Withdraw consent: Settings → “Withdraw consent” — your location history is deleted at once.
- Questions, or a copy of your data: write to us on WhatsApp.
Children
GoUMRA is not directed at children. A child under 16 is registered in an agency group only with a parent's (guardian's) consent, and the parent then manages the consent and settings.
GoUMRA is not a rescue service: SOS goes to your guide. In an emergency call 911 (Saudi Arabia).
If this policy changes we will publish the new version on this page and, where needed, ask for consent again in the app.

- Quran text: Tanzil Project (Uthmani v1.1), tanzil.net, CC BY 3.0 — unmodified.
- Madinah Mushaf pages: King Fahd Glorious Quran Printing Complex (dm.qurancomplex.gov.sa) — Android app only, downloaded directly from the publisher.
- Map: © OpenStreetMap contributors (ODbL), © OpenMapTiles. Software: MapLibre GL JS (BSD-3), PMTiles (BSD-3).
- Fonts: Amiri Quran, Noto Sans Arabic UI (SIL OFL 1.1).
- Haram imams: General Presidency for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques — haramainflags.prh.gov.sa (with a source link).
- Prayer times: computed on the device with the Umm al-Qura method.
- Umrah steps and duas are a DRAFT awaiting imam review (SAMK); unreviewed items are marked.
